2019 FALL BRUSH PICKUP : For Districts 1 & 6 only will start on OCTOBER 7th through OCTOBER 9th. It will be picked up once during that time. Please have your yard debris at the roadside for pickup. Christrmas trees for Districts 1 & 6 will be picked up by the Highway Department starting in January 2020 and as trucks allow.
Town of Clay Supervisor, Damian Ulatowski, and Highway Superintendent, Joe Nicoletti, would like to remind all town residents that reside in Districts 1 & 6 that brush collection will be held the first week on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday May and October of each year. The trucks will only pickup at your residence once during May and October; therefore it is essential that your debris be put at curbside by the first Monday of May and October. If the trucks have already collected in your area, they will not return. It will then be your responsibility to dispose of your debris. Yard waste that consists of: plants, grass, leaves, together with, shrubbery, limbs and small tree trunks that are less than 8 feet long and 6 inches in diameter will be picked up. Anything larger must be sawed into blocks an average person can pick up.
For all districts: Clay Yard Waste Recycling Center is open every 2nd Saturday from April through November, located on Oak Orchard Road, one mile east of the intersection off Henry Clay Blvd. and Oak Orchard Road from 8:00 a.m. until noon.
For all districts: Clay Highway Garage Disposal Facility located at 4483 Route 31 has drop off for heavy appliances (excluding those with freon) and metal items. The facility is open every 2nd Saturday from April through November from 8:00 a.m. until noon.
PLASTIC BAGS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
Due to the environmental impact that is created by disposing plastic into our landfills, any and all yard debris that is not placed in Visibly Labeled "Biodegradable" Plastic Bags will no longer be picked up. Please use paper, labeled biodegradable plastic bags or leave your debris loose. All filled non-biodegradable plastic bags will be left at curbside.
