    Town offices are open from 8:30AM to 4:30PM Monday though Friday.

    Where is Clay Town Hall located and how do I get there?

  • A:

    The Clay Town Hall is located at 4401 State Route 31 between Morgan Road and Henry Clay Boulevard (See Map.) Coming from I-81, get off at the Rt. 31 exit and head west approximately 4.7 miles. The Clay Town Hall will be on the right hand side just past Henry Clay Blvd. Coming from 481, get off at the Rt. 31 exit and head east approximately 1.4 miles. The Clay Town Hall will be on the left hand side past Morgan Rd.

    Onondaga County Sheriff's Office - 911 for emergencies or (315) 435-2111 for all other business. Dog Control - (315) 652-3848. Parks & Recreation - (315) 652-3800 Ext. 139. Town Clerks (notary, marriage/handicap/dog licensing, etc.):

    How do I obtain a recycling Blue Bin and is there any charge?

    Two free blue bins are available to any Town of Clay resident and can be picked up at the Highway Department during regular hours.

    Do you have a Notary and is there a charge?

  • A:

    Yes, there are Notaries in the Town Clerk's office and several in other departments. There is no charge to have documents notarized.

Highway Department (brush pickup, Christmas Tree Pickup, Street Sweeping, etc.):

    When do you pick up Christmas trees?

    For refuse district numbers 1 and 6 only, the highway department starts to pick up Christmas trees in January, weather permitting, and continues until all trees have been collected. For refuse districts 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 & 8, there are 3 curbside collections in January by the brush hauler under contract with the Town.

    When does street sweeping start? Weather permitting, sweeping starts the middle of March and continues until all the streets have been swept.

    When is brush pickup, what is allowed and not allowed?

    There is a dead animal in our street, can you have someone pick it up?

  • A:

    The following procedures will be followed for the pick up of dead animals on Town of Clay roads.

  • The Town Highway Department will pick up and dispose of large animals, such as deer, as part of their responsibility to maintain the Town of Clay roads.

  • Dog Control will pick up dead dogs as part of their responsbility to contact owners, if possible. The Town of Clay Dog Control may be reached at (315)652-3848

  • The Town of Clay will not pick up small dead animals, including cats, on Town of Clay roads. Please follow the NYSDEC guidelines for the safe disposal of small dead animals. The guideline is to invert a double plastic bag over the carcass and put into the trash.
