CLAY
2007 - 2009 BRUSH COLLECTION NOTICE
DISTRICTS
2, 3, 4, 5, 7 & 8
The
Town of Clay’s bi-weekly brush collection service is for residential
properties only. The Town has a 3-year contract
from January 2007 through December 2009 that was awarded to Syracuse Haulers Waste
Removal, Inc. for Districts 2, 3 and 4 and Last Chance Recycling,
Inc. for Districts 5, 7 and 8.
This
service is in addition to the Town’s yard waste and metal
pickup in May and October. The service includes Christmas tree pickup in January and
bi-weekly brush collection from March through part of December.
Leaves,
grass clippings, vegetation, tree and shrub branches are included. Brush should be tied in bundles or placed in rigid plastic,
metal, cardboard, paper or burlap containers.
Plastic bags may not be used because they are not
recyclable. Containers,
including contents and bundles, may not weigh more than 75 lbs.
each and individual tree branches may not exceed 5 feet in length.
Christmas trees may not have any ornaments or tree stands
attached and may not be bagged in plastic.
Items that will not be picked up as part of this contract
are refuse, rubbish, construction materials, furniture, tubs,
sinks, white goods and other appliances, tires, batteries,
automobile parts, carpets and recyclables as defined by the
Onondaga Resource Recovery Agency.
Any of these items, or brush not properly contained or
bundled, will not be picked up and, according to Town regulations,
must be removed from the street side before 6:00 PM on collection
day.
Christmas trees, containers and bundles should be placed just
outside of the road pavement and any concrete valley gutters so
they will not obstruct traffic or drainage.
It is the hauler’s responsibility to return empty
containers to approximately the same location.
If residents in districts 2, 3 and 4 have a complaint, please call
Syracuse Haulers Waste Removal, Inc. at 426-6771.
Residents in districts 5, 7 and 8 should call Last Chance
Recycling at 374-8005. If the hauler does not resolve the problem, email the Town of
Clay supervisor’s office at supervisor@townofclay.org
or call 652-3800.
