Town of Clay Supervisor, Damian Ulatowski, and Highway Superintendent, Tom Weaver, would like to remind all town residents that reside in Districts 1 & 6 that brush collection will be held every first Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of May and October of each year. The trucks will only pickup at your residence once during May and October; therefore it is essential that your debris be put at curbside by the first Monday of May and October. If the trucks have already collected in your area, they will not return. It will then be your responsibility to dispose of your debris. Yard waste that consists of: plants, grass, leaves, together with, shrubbery, limbs and small tree trunks that are less than 8 feet long and 6 inches in diameter will be picked up. Anything larger must be sawed into blocks an average person can pick up.
The Town of Clay provides a Central Disposal Facility for dropping off metal, heavy appliances (excluding those containing freon), and electronics. Please see our Electronic/Metal Recycling Page for additional info.
PLASTIC BAGS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!
Due to the environmental impact that is created by disposing plastic into our landfills, any and all yard debris that is not placed in Visibly Labeled "Biodegradable" Plastic Bags will no longer be picked up. Please use paper, labeled biodegradable plastic bags or leave your debris loose. All filled non-biodegradable plastic bags will be left at curbside.
ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED BY THE TOWN MAY BE ACCEPTED AT THE LEY CREEK TRANSFERSTATION: Please refer all questions to Operation Separation at the phone number below.
