'FREE' SUMMER PLAYGROUND PROGRAMS, SPECIAL PLAYGROUND EVENTS, FIELD TRIPS 2010 

Free Summer Playgrounds Programs are only open to Town of Clay resident's children.  Copies of birth certificates and proof of residency will be required to participate.  All of the programs listed below are free except the Extended Hour Playground program, which covers school custodial fees and is set at a limited enrollment of 30 per site, and the Field Trips! 

Please NOTE - these are playground programs only.  Schools may at any time ask us to cancel without advanced notice due to floor waxing, repair work, school function, acts of God, etc., and outdoor sites are subject to weather conditions.

SUMMER PLAYGROUND PROGRAMS:

Town of Clay Residents Only

The Town of Clay Recreation Department will operate 10 playgrounds to serve the Town of Clay, staffed with a director and several recreation aides to provide supervised and organized play for children ages 6 through 14. Although the children are supervised during scheduled activities, parents should be advised that children may go and come as they please. Certificate of birth and proof of residency will be required. Younger children should be advised not to leave the playground until picked up by a parent or older sibling. The playgrounds open Monday, June 28th and closes Friday, August 13th, 2010. A variety of sports and games, arts and crafts and special events will be offered.

Locations: Allen Road Elementary School; Bear Road Elementary School; Morgan Road Elementary School; Soule Road Elementary School.

Time: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Ages: 6 to 14 yrs.
Fee: **$100.00** for school custodial charges
Registration:
In-Person registration will be accepted by our staff during school playground operating hours.  Copies of Birth Certificates and Proof of Residency required to register.  Space is limited with a minimum of 30 children registered for each site.  Participants registered will have the opportunity to attend the extended hour playground during 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.  Program Monday, June 28th-Friday August 13th, 2010.  The Town of Clay reserves the right to cancel programs at anytime.

FREE PRE SCHOOL PLAY EXPERIENCE -2010

The current offering of the pre school program will be highlighted by outdoors and gymnasium activities. Arts and crafts, music, parachute games, story time and relays will make up much of the program. The program is open to ages 4 and 5 year olds. The program will be held at the following day and location: (TOWN OF CLAY RESIDENTS ONLY-Copy of Birth Certificate and Proof of Residency required).
Program begins Wednesday, June 30th and ends Wednesday, August 11th, 2010..

Allen Road Elementary School - Monday & Wednesday - 9:30-11:30 AM.

Soule Road Elementary School - Monday & Wednesday - 9:30-11:30 AM.

FREE ARTS & CRAFTS PLAYGROUND SCHEDULE - 2010

A summer crafts program will be available throughout the summer playground with the following schedule for youth 6 to 14 years old. (TOWN OF CLAY RESIDENTS ONLY-copies of birth certificate and proof of residency required).  Program begins Monday, June 28th  thru August 13th, 2010.

    Morgan Road Elementary School [Mon. thru Fri.] 10:45-12:00 PM

FREE EMPOWER ME!

Your Child's Introduction to Exercise and Healthy Eating will be integrated into our playground program this summer with Florence Drago, certified dance, fitness and nutrition instructor.  This will be done through the following fun activities....learning through play [FUN FEET], snacks [HEALTHY FOOD] and art [WRITER & ARTIST CORNER]! Activities may include Yoga, Pilates, T'ai Chi, Hip-Hop, Tribal, Zumbatomic, Ballroom dancing and more! 

 


FIELD TRIPS AND SPECIAL EVENTS 2010:

Town of Clay Residents Only!  In-person registration at the Clay Recreation Office for all field trips.  Checks are held till just prior to each field trip.  There are no refunds 48-hours before each trip.  Tickets must be ordered and confirmed.

THUNDER ISLAND   

Enjoy Central New York's only water park with cool water rides on the 'Black Water Tunnel Twister', 'Thunder Rush' or relax and drift around the Mini-River Ride.

Fee: $22.00 per child incl. transportation and chaperones.
Pick-Up Site: Bear Road Elementary School-10:00 AM {Note return time will be 4:00 PM-please be prompt picking up your child}
Registration: Recreation Office - space limited with a minimum of 45 children registered.

STRONG NATIONAL MUSEUM OF PLAY  

Strong Museum recognized as one of the Nation's top Museums for families and children.  Home to the National Toy Hall of Fame and the Worlds largest collection of toys that celebrate play!   

When: Thursday, July 15th, 2010
Ages:
6 to 14
Fee: $15.00 per child incl.
transportation and chaperones.
Pick-Up Site: Bear Road Elementary School-8:30 AM {Note return time will be 5:00 PM-please be prompt picking up your child}
Registration:  Recreation Office - space is limited with a minimum of 45 children register.

ENCHANTED FOREST PARK  

Enchanted Forest/Water Safari is New York's largest water theme park.  With 31 water rides and attractions all with heated water.  

When: Thursday, July 22nd, 2010
Ages:
7 to 16
Fee: $32.00 per child incl.
transportation and chaperones.
Pick-Up Site: Bear Road Elementary School-8:30 AM {Note return time will be 8:30 PM-please be prompt picking up your child}
Registration:  Recreation Office - space is limited with a minimum of 45 children registered.

SEABREEZE PARK  

Seabreeze Park provides the best in summer fun from the Mighty Jack Rabbit, King of the Roller Coaster to the leisurely ride on the Scenic Train Ride.  There are over 75 rides along with the Raging River Water Park and a Helix water ride to amuse your child.  

When: Thursday, August 5th, 2010

$25.00 per child incl. transportation and chaperones.
Pick-Up Site: Bear Road Elementary School-9:00 AM {Note return time will be 8:00 PM-please be prompt picking up your child}
Registration: Recreation Office - space is limited with a minimum of 45 children registered.

PENNY CARNIVAL (SPECIAL EVENT)  

Summer Playground Program Staff will set-up carnival games for Town of Clay youth.  Pennies will be used to play the games.  All ages welcome!  Registration is not required.  Pizza Hut-Wingstreet Vendor will provide food for purchase during the festivities.
