SUMMER PLAYGROUND PROGRAM 2008

Summer Playgrounds are only open to Town of Clay resident's children.  This year copies of birth certificates and proof of residency will be required to participate.  All of the programs listed below are free except the Extended Playground program which covers school fees charged for the longer hours and is set at a limited enrollment of 30 per site! 

Please NOTE - these are playground programs only - NOT DAYCARE and cannot be used as such.  Schools may at any time ask us to cancel without advanced notice due to floor waxing, repair work, school function, acts of God, etc.!

SUMMER PLAYGROUND PROGRAMS:

Town of Clay Residents Only

The Town of Clay Recreation Department will operate 11 playgrounds to serve the Town of Clay, staffed with a director and several recreation aides to provide supervised and organized play for children ages 6 through 13. Although the children are supervised during scheduled activities, parents should be advised that children may go and come as they please. This year certificate of birth and proof of residency will be required. Younger children should be advised not to leave the playground until picked up by a parent or older sibling. The playgrounds open Monday, June 30th and closes Friday, August 15th, 2008. A variety of sports and games, arts and crafts and special events will be offered.

1. Allen Road Elementary School 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
2. Bear Road Elementary School 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
3. Wetzel Road Elementary School 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
4. Soule Road Elementary School 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
4. Monterey/Pine Hollow Parks [Tues./Thurs.] 9:00 AM to 11:45 AM.
    Monterey/Pine Hollow Parks [Mon./Wed./Fri.] 12:15 PM to 3:00 PM.
    Fairway East at Loveland Park [Mon./Wed./Fri.] 9:00 AM to 11:45 AM.
    Cherrington East Park [Tues./Thurs.] 12:15 PM to 3:00 PM.
5. Bayberry green area off Quail Path [Mon./Wed./Fri.] 9:00-11:45 AM 
    
Pinegate Park [Tues./Thurs.] 9:00-11:45 AM

EXTENDED PLAYGROUND PROGRAM - 2008
 

Youth ages 6 to 13 - Town of Clay Residents Only

Locations: Allen Road Elementary School; Bear Road Elementary School; Soule Road Elementary Schook; Wetzel Road Elementary School.

Time: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Ages: 6 to 13 yrs.
Fee: $75.00
Registration:
In-Person registration will be accepted  Tuesday, May 13th, 2008 from 8:45 AM-4:15 PM at Clay Town Hall - Recreation Office!  Copies of Birth Certificates and Proof of Residency required to register.  Space is limited with a minimum of 30 children registered for each site.  After the in-person registration, you may call the Recreation Office at 652-3800 to see if any spaces are still available.
Participants registered will have the opportunity to attend the extended summer playground during the extended times offered. (7:30 AM to 4:00 PM).  Program Monday, June 30th-Friday August 15th, 2008.  
The Town of Clay reserves the right to cancel programs at anytime.

PRE SCHOOL PLAY EXPERIENCE -2008

The current offering of the pre school program will be highlighted by outdoors and gymnasium activities. Arts and crafts, music, parachute games, story time and relays will make up much of the program. The program is open to ages 4 and 5 year olds. The program will be held at the following day and location: (TOWN OF CLAY RESIDENTS ONLY-Copy of Birth Certificate and Proof of Residency required).
Program begins Wednesday, July 2nd, and ends Wednesday, August 13th, 2008.

Monday and Wednesday - Wetzel Road Elementary School - 9:00-10:30 AM.

SUMMER TEEN PLAYGROUND PROGRAM - 2008 (NEW)

The Town of Clay Recreation Department will operate a 'Just for Teens' program held at Soule Road Elementary School site for boys and girls ages 14 and 15 years old. Parents should be advised that the children may come and go as they please.  Program will run from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday thru Friday.  (TOWN OF CLAY RESIDENTS ONLY-copies of birth certificate and proof of residency required).  The playgrounds open Monday, June 30th, and close Friday August 15th, 2008.

ARTS & CRAFTS PLAYGROUND SCHEDULE - 2008

A summer crafts program will be available throughout the summer playground with the following schedule for youth 6 to 13 years old. (TOWN OF CLAY RESIDENTS ONLY-copies of birth certificate and proof of residency required).  Program begins Monday, June 30th thru August 15th, 2008.

1. Allen Road Elementary School [Mon. thru Fri]  12:30-1:45 PM
    Bear Road Elementary School [Mon. thru Fri.] 2:00-3:00 PM
    Wetzel Road Elementary School [Mon. thru Fri.] 10:45-12:00 PM
    Soule Road Elementary School [Mon. thru Fri.]  9:00-10:15 AM

SUMMER LIBRARY PROGRAM - 2008

A special summer Library Program will be held at the Bear Road Elementary School playground this summer.  Playground participants and Bear  Road Elementary students will have the opportunity to utilize the school's Library and Resources throughout the summer playground program.  A summer Librarian will assist the children and encourage them to read!  Starts Monday, June 30th through Friday, August 15th, 2008.

Starts: Tuesday, July 1st through Thursday, August 14th, 2008 - Bear Road Elementary School - 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday.

EMPOWER ME! - 2008

Your Child's Introduction to Exercise and Healthy Eating will be integrated into our playground program this summer with Florence Drago, certified fitness and nutrition expert.  This will be done through the following fun activities....learning through play [FUN FEET], snacks [HEALTHY FOOD] and art [WRITER & ARTIST CORNER]! Activities may include Yoga, Pilates, Hip-Hop Dancing, Tribal Dancing and more!
