COMMUNITY TREASURE YOUR ENVIRONMENT:

Join us as the Town of Clay sponsors CHAOS Canal Pirates as they make GARR-BAGE Walk the Plank as a part of the NYS Canal Corporation CANAL CLEAN SWEEP April 17th, 2010.  Meet at 9:00 AM at THREE RIVERS (parking lot by the bridge) 8885 Oswego Road Clay, NY 13041.  We will then proceed along the designated route to LOCK 23 for a PIRATE PIZZA PARTY.  Registration deadline April 14th, 2010.  Under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.  You must provide your own heavy work gloves, sturdy shoes required and pack bottled water.  Garbage bags provided. www.MySpace.com/piratesofchaos4For more information, contact Recreation Office, Chrissy Clancy 652-3800 x 137.

HOLIDAY TREE LIGHTING & VICTORIAN FESTIVAL -2009

LOCATION: The new Clay Town Hall, 4401 Route 31, Clay.

The Clay Recreation Department will host Tree Lighting Ceremony and Victorian Holiday Festival on Sunday, December 6th, 2009 from Noon to 6:30 PM.  Featured will be Crafters, Children's Holiday Project Table, Storytelling, Goodie Bags, 'Kiddie' Victorian Dress Up, A Special visit from Santa and so much more!  Food will be available for purchase.  Outdoor Musical Entertainment with Merry Mischief and the 12th Regiment US Infantry Company A.  This will be a fun, free family event!  WE ARE LOOKING FOR CRAFTERS!  For more information, contact Recreation Office, Chrissy Clancy 652-3800 x 137.

FROSTE FAIRE:

Our 6th annual Froste Faire will be held on Saturday, January 16th, 2010 from 12:00-4:00 PM at the Town of Clay Welcome Center at Clay Historical Park on Route 31 behind Immanuel Lutheran Church.   Free Admission! Free Games! Free Refreshments! Free Prizes!  There's something for everyone!  Young and Not so-Young alike!  This is an Intergenerational Event to Celebrate Winter with the Town of Clay.

2nd ANNUAL SNOWMOBILE RIDE FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS - 2010

The Town of Clay Recreation Office in conjunction with Rob Bick, Town of Clay Assessor will be hosting the 2nd Annual Snowmobile Ride for children with special needs ages 3 to 16.  The event will take place on Saturday, January 16th, 2010 at the Town of Clay Town Hall from 10:00-1:00 PM  It is an opportunity for parents or organizations that provide for needs of special needs children to allow them to experience one of New York States famous winter pasttimes in a controlled, safe fashion with experienced riders.  Contact the Town of Clay Recreation Office to register at 652-3800 x 139.  If you have a two-person snowmobile or the ability to tow a sleigh, you can volunteer your time for a good cause.  All snowmobiles must have current registration and insurance.  You can contact Florence Drago, Recreation at 652-3800 x 139 or Rob Bick, Assessor for more information at 652-3800 x 116.

ICE SKATING at CICERO TWIN RINKS-2009-2010

The Town of Clay Recreation Department Day will be on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 and Tuesday, February 16, 2010 from 12:00-2:00 PM.  Adults may participate too!

LOCATION: Cicero Twin Rinks Ice Skating Center - 752-7465 (RINK)
FEE:
Youth/Adult - $3.50 includes admission & $5.00 includes admission and rental.
REGISTRATION:
Just let them know you are there for the Town of Clay Recreation Day. 

SNOW TUBING - FOUR SEASONS - 2010

Snow tubing for ages 8 and up offered on Wednesday, February 17, 2010rom 10:00 AM-1:00 PM.  Youth may bring a lunch or purchase at Four Seasons Golf and Ski Resort in Fayetteville (637-9023).  Bus transportation included with pick-up sites at 9:00 AM at Wetzel Road Elementary School in Liverpool or 9:15 AM at the Bear Road Elementary in No. Syracuse.  Fee is $11.00 payable at bus stop. NOTE: Checks made payable to Four Season. PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED by calling Clay Recreation Office at 652-3800 or Email recreation@townofclay.org, .

FAMILY GYM AND SWIM - 2010

LOCATION: Liverpool High School

The Town of Clay Recreation Department will be offering the very popular Family Gym and Swim Program this winter at Liverpool High School.  The pool will be open for the entire families enjoyment from 6:00 to 8:00 PM; while the gymnasium will host a variety of fun family activities to include basketball, relays, parachute games and much much more. Program dates are:  February 14th, 21st, 28th, March 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th, 2010.

Schedule/Times:  6:00-8:00 PM - Family Swim (children must have a parent present to swim) and Family Recreation.

EASTER EGG HUNT -2010

This Town of Clay Recreation Department's Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, March 27th, 2010, at Clay Central Park on Wetzel Road at 11:00 AM sharp!  Clay P. Bunny will be making an appearance with goodies for the boys and girls, ages 10 and under.  You must be a resident of the Town of Clay and registered!  We can only take a limited amount of children since we make up goodie bags for the participants.  Email recreation@townofclay.org or phone 652-3800 to register. Remember Clay Residents only!

HALLOWEEN PARTY -2009

LOCATION: The new Clay Town Hall, 4401 Route 31, Clay.

The Clay Recreation Department will offer a Family Halloween Event for Town of Clay residents to include free entertainment, fun games and special activities, costume judging with prizes, cider and donuts on Sunday, October 25th, 2009.  Time for this event is 2:00-4:00 PM.  There is registration for this FREE Town of Clay Event with limited space.  Please join us for a fun evening!  To register, contact Clay Recreation at 652-3800 or email us a recreation www.townofclay.org .  Clay Residents Only!

CanTEEN CENTER PROGRAMS- 2009-2010

The Teen Center offers a safe, supervised location for youth ages 13 to 18.  Meet new people, experience new activities, make new friends or just hang with the old ones!  The Teen Center is a drop-in site with caring, compassionate staff that involve the youth in the community service, field trips, pool tournaments, talent shows and much, much more!  Everyday activities include video games, pool, snacks and just plain 'hanging out'.

The CanTeen is located at 8837 Brewerton Road in Brewerton.  If you can't get there, transportation is available!  From the North Syracuse Jr. High School and Cicero North Syracuse Senior High School, you can catch a shuttle right after school every day beginning the first day of school.  If catching a ride home is a problem, the North Syracuse School District provides transportation home four nights at 5:15 Monday thru Thursday.  Bus service to the CanTeen from school however, is offered Monday thru Friday.  You do need to live in the North Syracuse District to use the busing, but not to come to the CanTeen.
